Great Britain went into the third Test of the 1974 Lions tour looking to emulate the achievement of the 1970 tourists by clinching the Ashes. The Lions had lost the first Test 12-6 but levelled the series with a 16-11 victory in Sydney to set up a tense decider. With five players playing with pain-killing injections, Britain gave their all but fell just short in front of an SCG crowd of over 55,000.
