Loughlin try – 1988 Kiwis

Rugby league Lion number 432 Paul Loughlin scored two tries and landed 31 goals in his high class 15-Test Great Britain career, including this opportune touchdown in the opening minute of the solitary Test against New Zealand in Christchurch, the closing game of the Lions’ 1988 tour.

Sadly, Lockers’  try and subsequent conversion, plus a try for David Hulme, were not enough to secure the result Great Britain needed to clinch a place in that year’s World Cup final as the Kiwis edged a thrilling game 12-10.
